The GE HealthCare Vivid E90 is a premium cardiovascular ultrasound system built around GE’s cSound™ software beamforming platform, designed to deliver high-end 2D cardiac imaging with fast workflow and strong image quality. cSound provides true confocal imaging without the usual focal-zone tradeoffs, supporting strong frame rate and spatial resolution while keeping controls manageable during busy echo days.
Image quality on the Vivid E90 is driven by a combination of True Confocal Imaging, Ultra Definition Clarity, HD Imaging (resolution, penetration, uniformity), Adaptive Contrast Enhancement (ACE), and virtual apex (wide field-of-view). For transducers, the system supports GE’s XDclear™ probe technology, which combines Single Crystal, Acoustic Amplifier, and Cool Stack technologies for penetration and sensitivity while maintaining spatial resolution.
Ergonomics and usability were a design priority: the system pairs a 22-inch high-contrast OLED main display with a 12-inch ultra-high-resolution multi-touch touchscreen, plus an electronically adjustable console and keyboard to better fit different users and exam styles.
